Cole the mole is a heart-warming children’s story which addresses the childhood fear of the dark. It is aimed at 2-8 year olds and is set in the African wilderness. Here a brave mole has to overcome his secret fear in order to help a young lion cub find his lost parents. This is a story of friendship between two unlikely characters as they set off on an exciting adventure into the wilderness. They have insightful encounters with other animals, that leads not only to the two friends finding the young cub’s parents, but also to Cole overcoming his one and only fear – the dark.

About the author...
I am Natalie Osborne, Graphic Designer, illustrator and proud mother.
Having enjoyed story telling since I was a child, both reading and narrating, it has always been my passion and dream to write my own children’s book. When my daughter was a toddler, I would spend endless hours reading books to her, sometimes the same one on repeat and it was then that I decided it was time to tell mine.
Most of the story was written late at night when the house was quiet and I was up feeding my new born son. It took many years of juggling 2 kids and a full time job, but finally I have managed to bring Cole the mole to life, both in words and on paper.
My experience in graphic design as well as my passion for painting, has allowed me to illustrate the pictures for the book. Each page is a beautiful double page spread showcasing the African wilderness and all the amazing animals that can be found in it, including the big 5.
